We are the crossroads of Southeastern New Mexico, with US-82 and US-285 intersecting our community simplifying distribution and logistics for manufacturing throughout New Mexico, Texas, Arizona, and into Colorado. Additionally, we have the BNSF railroad paralleling US-285 with a rail spur in our industrial park. A few miles south of town we have a private company that leases out their rail spur, which has 11 miles of track with several transloading stations.

Our main economic drivers are ranching, agriculture, oil and gas production, and refining. Chase Farms, is one of the largest pecan producers in the country. HollyFrontier Navajo Refinery has been in operation for over 50 years and is in the process of a half-billion-dollar expansion into renewable fuels. For over 30 years, the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center (FLETC) has been a part of our community. FLETC is a component under the Department of Homeland Security where more than 85 federal agencies utilize the facilities.
