Home to Fort Stewart, the U.S. Army's largest post in the Eastern U.S., and its 20,000 soldiers and their 10,000 spouses, Liberty County is a military community that works hard to diversify its economy. And that work has paid off. More than 4,000 area residents have jobs at industries employed by industries attracted by LCDA
The county has two Georgia Ready for Accelerated Development industrial parks with more than 1,200 acres available. They are both approximately 30 miles from the Port of Savannah, within 150 miles of three other major East Coast ports and three major airports. Rail service is also available.
Four-lane U.S. Highway 84 and 2-lane Highway 17 intersect in Liberty County, near both Tradeport East and Tradeport West business centers, as well as the nearly-built out Midway Industrial park.
Six-lane Interstate 95 has two exits in the county, 76 at Midway just a half mile from the entrance of Tradeport East Business Park, and 67 at Riceboro. Interstate 16 at Savannah, GA, is 23 miles north of I-95's Exit 76. Interstate 10 at Jacksonville, FL, is 106 miles south of 76.
Savannah Hilton Head International Airport is 30 miles north of Exit 76. Jacksonville International is 100 miles south of that exit. MidCoast Regional Airport, a general and corporate aviation facility, is in the county, about 15 miles from Exit 76.
